Reader Request

Reader Karen emailed us this request:
Hello Lindsey and Julie! I am so thrilled to have found your website!! Thank you for the time and effort that you put into such a fun site - it's a joy to find all of your new and interesting bits! You have been very helpful with Reader Requests in the past, and I wondered if you'd mind helping us out?! Our youngest son just turned two and we will be transforming his room from a nursery to a "big boy room." To offset his more "grown up" furniture (which consists of a dark Ethan Allen bunkbed, desk set and bookshelves), I've decided to use bright colors. His walls are painted a sky blue and have a black stripe between white crown moldings on top and a black stripe between chair railing moldings in the middle. I've picked orange and white bedding (Ikea Hulda Rund) and would really like to accent the room with black and white pieces. I am having difficulty finding playful pieces that might go nicely (wall decor, curtains, sheets, rugs). Any suggestions?

Coveiter happily responds:
Karen, it sounds like you have some great elements in your little boy's room so additional pieces should accent the designs you have in place. For sheets, we'd go with a solid color. Our preference is white as the bedding is so vibrant and bold on its own. We found some rugs that keep with the circular nature of the bedding for continuity. And our favorite window option will work with any of the rugs shown. The walls can be accented with simple, modern artwork. Finally accessories are sleek but playful. We hope that our selections below will help you to finish your decorating project. Be sure to email us the results! Cheers!
