I really love the work of artist, Alyson Fox. She creates amazing drawings and photographs, and I really love to see the correlation between her fashion illustration and the clothing evolving from such.
A Small Collection is a clothing line that is absolutely eco-friendly. Sustainable fabric, no zippers, organic elastic, and buttons made from fallen tree branches combine with Alyson's photography skills and illustration to tell a story. A Small Collection consists of 6 dresses, 1 skirt, 1 pair of shorts, 2 tops, 1 wrap, 11 short pieces of video, 10 photographs and 9 illustrations for a completely immersive experience.

The Land of Nod has some pretty cool looking baby gear right now! And I just realized they also carry the Orbit Baby line, too!
Mondays, Now Nicer
I am really loving the Do One Nice Thing website. Debbie Tenzer started One Nice Thing to combat "Monday Blues" and now people in 61 countries have followed suit. The premise is to do one nice thing on Mondays. It will help you start the week off right and make yourself and others feel good! Since DoNiceThings Mondays started "Niceaholics" have sent 70 tons of school supplies to soldiers in Afghanistan for distribution and over 8,000 handmade cards have been sent to sick children. These are just the tip of the iceberg of nice things that have been done and that can be done!
The site has nice ideas and a nice blog where people record what they've seen and done. Become a niceaholic today, just think of how all the nice things can build up to big changes in your life and the world! Visit the site to become a member and get a free gift!
Handmade Cards

This year I vowed not to purchase birthday cards. I took a look at my calendar and compiled a list of all the birthday card recipients for the entire year and got to work designing. I'm very pleased with the outcome. Now all I have to do is grab a pre-made card, an envelope and stamp and drop it into the mailbox. Personalized birthday cards for everyone!!

Classic Pooh

My good friend's daughter had her very first birthday this week. I thought this was a very fitting gift for her Classic Pooh themed party. These sweet hardcover books feature Milne's unabridged text and have charming full color illustrations by Ernest H. Shepard. The book jackets have a die-cut that reveals beautiful full color artwork on the books. Happy Birthday Isabella!
Switch It Up
With spring upon us and summer around the corner, donning flip flops will become a more regular occurrence. In an effort to unclutter, save some green and perhaps even lessen your ecological footprint, try on a pair of Switch Flops.
These flip flops allow you to switch only the straps for a totally different look. Talk about a great space saver when packing for a beach getaway! Watch a video of how these flops, flip here.

Greenwich Is Truly Green

I'm super obsessed with letterpress, so every now and then I'll be highlighting some of my favorite letterpess shops. First up is Greenwich Letterpess who not only designs and prints pretty stationery, but they also print using 100% wind energy. They are the only letterpress studio that uses no carbon emissions to operate their presses. Beautiful and green. Love it!
Pop Up Perfection

I had, had, had to post this as soon as possible because this is by far one of THE coolest things I have seen in a while. Let me lay preface that I am a lover of type (duh) and pop-up books. That being said I still think that everyone will admire the brilliance that is ABC3D. The book is by Marion Batialle and will be released this October. I can't wait to get my hands on one of these! Now watch this video and be amazed!

Inspiration
{ chambray by the sea shore }
My awesome hubby took me shopping for my birthday last weekend. One of my find/buys was this super cute, soft and flowy chambray wrap dress from Gap. I can picture wearing it lots of places: strolling along beach front shops, sunny day gatherings, lunch at a favorite outdoor cafe with a seat in the sun, etc., etc., etc. Most of my instances involve sun and breezes. And did I mention it was super soft?! So I set out to complete my assemble with a little virtual shopping spree. Here are some of my selections.

{ lil b designs }
Offerings: Dine & Doodle Placemats and Roll.n.Go Crayons
Lil b designs says it best, "Dine & Doodle placemats are on-the-go fun for child's play, drawing, writing, and games while also providing your child a safe, clean area for meals. Use anytime and anywhere to entertain your little one -- in restaurants, at home, on planes, in the car, during appointments...it's not just for meal time. Tap into your child's inner-Van Gogh on the chalkcloth side. Then, when your child's meal is ready, simply wipe down the chalkcloth and flip it over for a vibrant colorful clean placemat. Afterwards, roll up your Dine & Doodle and tie it with the grosgrain ribbon. A handy holder keeps the chalk. Stores easily in a purse or diaper bag, where it's always handy for the next time."
Available in lots of fun prints and colors. These are a genius way to keep things clean and fun!
Too Cool: ReForm School

If you haven't checked out ReForm School you are missing out on quite the education! Billie and Tootie are two high school friends who are living their dream of owning a little shop. They focus on handmade, eco-friendly wares that aren't too "in your face" green (the opposite of lots and lots of hemp). After such an overwhelming response to their brick and mortar shop they took on the world wide web offering home accessories and furniture, books and stationery, art, kids stuff, bath and body products, jewelry and accessories and clothing. Well-rounded students they are! This school is one you will actually enjoy!

We Feel Fine
My brother-in-law found this fascinating site called We Feel Fine. It's a project by Jonathan Harris and Sepandar Kamvar who created a system that has been scouring blogs all over the world every ten minutes since 2005 collecting data on human feelings. The way they compile the data is visually STUNNING. It's in real-time, it's interactive and very addicting. I found myself mousing around for an hour or so.

Inspiring Interview
{ Suann Song }
Shortly after Coveiter launched, we had the pleasure of meeting Suann (a cyber meeting anyway). Not only is she one of the nicest people I've met, but she is creative too! This creative lady keeps busy as a director for a PR firm, editor for Sk*rt, blogger, etsy seller, wife and mom. Even with her hands so full she produces some really cute products and keeps an inspiring blog. We are so flattered she took time out of her busy schedule to be interviewed. Without further ado, we welcome Suann as our latest inspiring interviewee.
Who/what inspires your designs? Oh, there are so many things that inspire me. A lot are the simple things I see on an everyday basis -- bright, fresh patterns and color combinations, great fashion, textiles, photography - I love Flickr.
How do you balance your "real" job with your etsy store, editor responsibilities at Sk*rt, and your own personal blog? I'm still getting the hang of things but for the most part its two things: I stay super organized -- I'm a huge list maker and certain parts of the day are dedicated to certain tasks/roles. For example, I usually blog late at night and post my posts the night before. Its kind of my way to unwind! Secondly, my little one [17 months] is an amazingly good sleeper. I get a lot done before he wakes up in the morning and during his afternoon nap, which is oftentimes 3-4 hours!
You've got to have some favorite resources, blogs, or websites on the web. Will you share some with us? Some of my regular blogs include: Design*Sponge, Orangette, Love Made Visible, Apartment Therapy, Midwest Modern Girl and Unruly Things. The last two, I particularly enjoy as I feel like they have very similar tastes to mine but much cooler, of course. I also visit Martha Stewart's blog and website all the time. I can seriously never get enough of Martha.
I love magazines. These are the regulars I will pour over: the now defunct Blueprint, Real Simple, Harper's
, Living
- all the usual suspects.
There are a handful of online shops I like to check out regularly to see what they've got going on: Rose + Radish, Uppercase and Anthropologie [of course].
And finally, I love Flickr. If I think of something, I'll always Flickr it to see what people have come up with or how they interpret it.
Describe your office. What did you strive for when creating this space? I'm fortunate to have big windows and french doors in my work space which provides loads of great natural light. I wanted that light and fresh feeling to be the centerpiece of my space. So, most everything in my little studio is white with bits of glass and silver. Right now its a bit too white and I'm working on adding splashes of color and femininity. All in all, I do love it and its perfect for me.
What song makes you want to sing out loud and dance around without inhibition? This is so cheesy and I'm embarrassed to say -- 4 Non Blondes What's Up.
What was the last movie you saw or book you read that changed the way you think? Book: Eat, Pray, Love Movie: The Kingdom
[I like a good action movie -- though this one wasn't the greatest but it makes you seriously think about what kids have to go through in other parts of the world]
What is the one thing you can't leave home without? Hands down, my blackberry and Sugar Lip Balm by Fresh. I will turnaround and go back home if I forgot either one. Which I have done.
What is your most treasured belonging? Besides my husband and son, my Mac Powerbook. I am addicted to it.
Who is your favorite artist? I have a ton - from contemporary to classics and photographers to dancers. But since I was an art history major, I'll name my all-time favorite painters: Magritte and Seurat. I literally traveled the world to see both of their works.
Finally what are you coveting this spring? A big bunch of my favorite flowers - ranunculus, peonies and hydrangeas, pretty much anything bright yellow and these [or any, for that matter] Jamie Joseph earrings.
Thank you Suann for the opportunity to feature you!
Goodbye Plastics, Hello Vegware

Have you heard about Vegware? It's a company in the UK that produces sustainable, biodegradable cutlery and tableware made from natural starch and fibers. These products can also be purchased in the US at Green Home, a fantastic resource for all things eco-friendly.

Grown Up Beverage, No I.D. Required

While perusing the extensive beverage selection at The Fresh Market today, I was drawn to bottles with the name GuS. The glass bottles were adorned with clean white labels that popped with images of fruit. GuS is an acronym for Grown-Up Soda, so that explains the nice packaging!
Their website describes these clever sodas as "the first soda made truly for adult palates. It’s less sweet than typical flavored sodas, juice drinks and bottled teas. It has distinctive, dry flavors for discriminating taste buds, made from real juices and extracts. And it’s nicely carbonated for added crispness and refreshment. Plus, GuS is 100% natural, kosher and has no preservatives or caffeine. They're lightly sweetened with natural cane sugar, with only 90 - 98 calories in each 12oz. bottle."
I tried the Dry Pomegranate and it was yummy! I intended on taking an up close and personal photo for you guys but I scarfed it all down too quickly! Another interesting GuS benefit is their website gives recipes for GuS cocktails that sound super tasty too. These bad boys have now found a permanent home in my fridge.

{ eighty8words }
Offerings: Word Jewelry
Julie and I have made our love for type and packaging known, and today's etsy seller satisfies our desire for both! Eighty8words combines her love for words and silver to produce wearable words. The necklaces she makes are so fun, the photos are bright and vibrant and the packaging her beauties come in ties it all together! I love how the pendants look like typewriter keys in word form. The words she's chosen can be used in so many ways (I have a million ideas for them), and custom word pendants available too if none of the clever ones fit your bill.
Recycled Rug

Too gorgeous to be green? Nope! This Floral Reversible All-Weather Rug is made entirely from recycled soda bottles. Another plus - the Thai artisans who craft these rugs receive a fair wage for their craft. If that isn't reason enough to love this rug maybe the fact that cleaning it requires only a hose. Just be sure not to waste water doing so!
Onenderland
If your baby needs a little sass then head over to Sassy Onesies. They have a huge offering of sassy apparel for wee ones that will have you giggling in no time. Some of my favorites are below including the caped super onesie and "year of the rugrat" onesie. Visit ther website for more including the more tongue in cheek versions.
