An Evening In Grayton

While on my beach getaway, we visited nearby Grayton Beach, to eat at the semi-famous whole in the wall, The Red Bar where Sheryl Crow, Jim Carrey and other celebs frequent. This is our second visit and we will surely go back. The Red Bar has a great jazz band playing nightly and some of the best food on the coast! They have a simple menu of about 5 dinner entrees that vary regularly. Your waiter will present your options to you on a chalk board . How fun is that? The Red Bar boasts the Emerald Coast's best salads with home made dressing. We dined on Panne Chicken and Manicotti. For dessert we finished up with homemade key lime pie and bread pudding. I definitely recommend visiting if you are ever in the area. We didn't see any famous diners but you may get lucky!

While waiting for our table, we browsed The Zoo Gallery across the street from the restaurant. These shops are sprinkled throughout the area and contain some awesome paintings, prints, sculptures, home decor and jewelry. They try to display a wide variety of American artists and I really enjoyed browsing the shop. I could have spent tons of time and money there but I only left with two small goodies (stay tuned for more on that!). This is another must visit if near Destin/Grayton Beach.
