Yard Sale Treasure Map

If you're a garage sale lover like me, then you are going to love this. Instead of reading the paper and scoping out garage sales, scribbling out addresses and trying to plot out the best way to make it to each location, you can let Google's Yard Sale Treasure Map do the work. Type in your address + driving radius and the garage sales in your area that are listed on Craigslist pop up in seconds showing you the best route to take. You can click on each sale noted to find out more info about it. And, you can also enter other addresses for sales you may find in other sources, and the new spots will appear on the map and get added to your route. Best part? It's free.

Wholearth

Wholearth is a new line of bath + beauty by Danny Seo. You can bet coming from the green king himself that these products are all natural, organic and totally eco-friendly. The packaging is quite lovely too and of course made from 100% post-consumer materials! I'd be delighted to try anything from the collection but that natural bamboo body scrub is really calling my name. Select anthropologie stores are carrying Danny's goodies.

Grid Tape

I'm totally loving this. Clear vintage-style tape with a red grid pattern.

Muji Online

This is big. Big, big. Muji, one of my favorite stores just opened a store in the US online. If you're not familiar with Muji, it's a store that sells well designed, simple, highly functional, well priced things. I absolutely love their organizational products and their stationery stuff in particular.

Tessa

I'm really loving these two pieces and positively shocked that they are from Crate & Barrel. I'm especially enthralled by the sweet + curvy nightstand.

It didn't take long for funny variations of this iconic poster to pop up. This gallery showcases some hilarious examples.

Deal Of The Day

Today on One Kings Lane, which Lindsey blogged about previously, Archipelago Botanicals candles are on sale. Two for $25. And the glass jar candles are two for $18. Sounds good to me!

Louis Chair

I'm definitely feeling this new Louis Chair from Pottery Barn. Maybe I'll be able to snag a couple on sale. If they ever go on sale, that is. Surely they will, right?

Earth Friendly Etsy

In honor of Earth Day I put together a few Etsy stores that offer eco-friendly items that are equally stylish. And there are plenty more than what I showcase here so remember to buy handmade when going green!

Mama Made Make your kids lunch for school everyday? Odds are you are using some sort of plastic baggie to transport the meals. That's a lot of waste (and it adds up too $). This shop has the cutest snack + sandwich bags lined for cleanliness. They can be easily reused with a simple shaking out (for non messy snacks) or a quick toss in the washer with your laundry (for messy stuff like PB&J).

Alexandra Ferguson The gorgeous pillows in this shop are made from 100 percent post consumer recycled felt. That's about the equivalent of 4 water bottles you are saving from ending up in a landfill. And did I mention how pretty they are?!?

Bucks County Frames From a mill that is part of the Forrestry Stewardship Council come these lovely frames. 100% VOC free from Enviornmentally sustainable wood sources. I think frames like these would make your art even more beautiful!

Greener Landz The ultimate in green gifting (or keeping)! Here we go...wine bottles from local businesses are transformed into containers for candles made of soy wax, for a cleaner burning. Then they are packaged in boxes made of 100% recycled materials. Then to top it off 5% of sales are donated to charity!

Gina Michelle Bamboo meets fashion. Fun, flirty dresses from this shop are made from organic, and highly sustainable bamboo. Bamboo is hypoallergenic, biodegradeable, does not require pesticides or fertilizers for successful growth. This is the next best thing to buying vintage or (gasp!) wearing what you have.

Eat Cupcakes, Make a Difference

Usually the only difference eating cupcakes makes is in my clothing size! But today (and through the 24th) in honor of Earth Day, Sprinkles is donating all the proceeds from its vanilla cupcakes to tree planting and environmental care organizations. A cute little green tree on the top of the treats lets you know you're eating for a great cause!

Honey Do's

I found a really interesting Earth Day tribute a la anthro. They've creatively merchandised, added themed fashions and done a lovely web explanation on the positive job that bees do for our environment. Taking a trip thru their virtual experience I learned a few things about these flying friends. They made a donation to the cause and you can help too. Of course creativity in the area of helping the planet is always fun!

Disney's Earth

I've always been a fan of Disney and now they are giving me another reason to cheer them on. The first Disneynature movie Earth, hits theatres today. To make a difference the company is going to plant one tree for every ticket sold thru opening weekend. In fact, based on advance sales they've already committed to planting a half million trees! I've gotta say I wanted to see the movie anyway, and now you can bet I'll be doing so this week. For once, the cost of a movie ticket doesn't seems so bad!

{ Bendywho }

Offerings: One-of-a-kind jewelry from reclaimed and found objects

Visiting Bendywho is a bit like digging through a vintage jewelry box and browsing an anthro catalog combined! I love the quirky nature of the baubles and the retro roots. Hey and bonus points for using found objects (that's green!).
